Spherical washers are designed to eliminate the parallel plane failure between the bolt head and the face of the nut. This spherical washer adjusts when tightening the bolt connection to compensate for angle failure and eliminate bolt bending when there is an angular difference between foundation and bedplate surface. It avoids bolt fatigue and the bolt tension forces are evenly distributed.
