Global Alignment & Engine Service performed a 3D measurement on a dredge pump installation. Through this measurement we compared the dimensions and the alignment of the water chamber position to the output shaft of the dredge pump gearbox. Also the height from the bearing block centerline to the dredge pump pedestal surface was measured. After the 3D measurement the best fit centerline from water chamber to gearbox was taken, also the alignment targets were taken in account. We placed our milling machine on the dredge pump pedestal and aligned the machine with the Faro Laser Tracker and machined the pedestal to the original production dimensions. After machining we mounted and aligned the bearing block to the water chamber.
