The biggest contribution for reducing operating costs of machinery is to align them correctly. Tests have shown that incorrect alignment is the cause for around 50% of all machine breakdowns.
Shaft alignment
Any misalignment between two shafts increases the stress on the shafts and will almost certainly result in excessive wear and premature breakdown of components such as shafts, bearings and seals. This can be very costly. Where a quick alignment check and if necessary an alignment correction can often be done in hours, changing shafts, bearings or seals most of the time is a time-consuming and therefore expensive job.
