Different chocking solutions require different bolts and different bolt tightening torques. Therefore, bolt calculations are essential in the chocking process especially with new-build installations.
Bolt calculations
A correct bolt connection is one of the important issues in chocking. We therefore use our Global Alignment & Engine Service bolting software. This software calculates the required tightening torque on which a bolt must be tightened using various information such as bolt thread, material quality, required bolt stretch and effective clamping length. This way bolts will always be tightened according to Class rules from all Class authorities.
